RECOMMENDATION

If you feel embarrassed and have difficulty in showing your chest in public, up to a point that it is interfering with your social life and sports practice, having a surgery to correct the gynecomastia can help you.

It is indicated for the treatment of excessive male mammary glands,  apart from treating excessive fullness of fat in the pectoral zone.

Gynecomastia occurs in patients from all ages, especially after treatment for prostate cancer.

PROCEDURE

When there is glandular hypertrophy, the removal is done through a small incision in the lower part of the areola. Liposuction is indicated to treat excessive chest fat. The association of the two techniques is frequent. In cases of sagging skin and enlarged areolas, incisions may be camouflaged on the mammary fold and in the border of the darker skin of the nipplereolar complex.

ANESTHESIA

Local anesthesia and sedation. Duration of 2 to 3 hours.

Observation in the recovery room for 4 to 6 hours.

RECOVERY AND AFTER-CARE SURGERY

Use of compressive chest shaper for 15 to 20 days.

Home rest for 5 to 7 days.

Avoid chest exercises during 30 days.

Sun exposure is only allowed after 60 days.

RESULTS

Satisfactory results are visible immediately, although residual swelling may still exist up to the sixth month. This surgery increases your self-esteem by providing a more defined male chest and greater firmness in the breast region, facilitating your return to physical activities.
