RHYNOPLASTY - BLEPHAROPLASTY

The procedure is indicated when you are bothered by some aspects of your nose,  which may interfere with your facial characteristics.  This coul be due to exaggerated size, large dorsal hump, a dropping or boxy nasal tip and deviation of the nasal pyramid. Another  important indication is to improve breathing.

Those deformities may be caused by hereditary inheritance or after trauma.

Surgical correction requires preoperative functional  and aesthetic assessment. Angles and measures between the dorsum and nasal tip are taken aiming to reach the best proportion with the dimensions and characteristics of your face.

Surgical techniques range from a minor  localized touch up to major corrections of the bone and cartilaginous framework of the nose.

PROCEDURE

The open technique approach is accomplished by a small cut at the nasal base and internally in the nostrils. This allows visualizing the airways and sculpting the cartilages with precision.

Small grafts can be necessary to structure and refine the tip, as well as the nasal dorsum. Turbinate hypertrophy and septal deviation are treated at the same time.

Minor nasal refinements can be done with sedation and local anesthesia

ANESTHESIA

leaving hospital after 2 or 3 hours. More complex operation is performed under general anesthesia and requires an overnight stay.

Care is taken to minimize postoperative bleeding and bruising. They are usually reabsorbed within the first week.

POST OPERATORY

Use of sun protection screen is essencial to avoid hyperpigmentation of the skin and lower eyelids for at least 60 days.

We recommend the use of light plastic plaster for  up to 7 to 10 days.

Physical exercises are not recommended in the first 2 months.

Swelling or edema is normal and it can last longer than 6 months.
