RECOMMENDATION
The aging of the neck increases the sagging skin and changes the position of the platysma muscles. Protruding central bands appear, obstructing the gracefulness of the mandibular cervical angle. In some cases, the concentration of fatty deposits also contributes to worsen the contour.
SURGERY
The simplest optional treatment is a direct approach under local anesthesia and sedation. The scar accompanies the natural marks, just below the chin. For older and sagging patients, it follow the cervical expression lines. The fat is removed and the muscles are treated with the repositioning, fixation and resection of muscle bands.
ANESTHESIA
Local anesthesia and sedation, lasting about 1 hour and a half.
CARE
Use of cervical compression with microporation for 7 to 14 days.
Mentonian band at night or for periods of 6 hours a day for 30 days.
Silicone bands containing topical substances that help the resorption of swelling and bruises may be recommended.
RESULTS
The scar tends to fade in the central area over the months.
Surgery of the "cervical jowl" improves the contour of the central area of the neck, especially for patients who do not wish to perform or do not have clinical conditions for the broader procedure of rhytidoplasty or facial lifting.
