RECOMMENDATION

An abdomen that presents flaccidity, excess skin, bulging with weakness of the muscular wall, either due to weight changes or post-pregnancy, benefits from this surgical approach.

The surgery is not a substitute for weight loss, and it is ideal for women who do not intend to become pregnant after the procedure. Some stretch marks may be eliminated below the umbilical scar, but if the marks advance above this region on the upper abdomen, part of them may remain.

TECHNIQUE

The scar is positioned above the pubis, horizontally, and its dimension on the sides varies according to the excess skin. In the periumbilical region, the scar is positioned discreetly in the innermost part of the navel.

Liposuction of excess fatty tissue in the abdomen and flanks is a frequent association. If necessary, liposuction of the back and liposculpture with gluteal enlargement can be performed at the same surgical time.

The abdominal muscles are reinforced with midline approaching sutures. If there are hernias in the wall, they will be corrected.

The excess skin is removed from below and the umbilical scar is repositioned.

Excess skin on the upper abdomen, when it occurs, is removed by a scar on the breast crease.

 VIDEOENDOSCOPY IN ABDOMINOPLASTY

Skinny patients, who have post-gestational abdominal muscle separation, benefit from a reduced scar above the pubis. From this smaller scar, we tight the abdominal muscles by endoscopic vision. treating the diastasis. The area above and below the navel is repositioned, improving the waist and decreasing the abdominal protuberance. All work is done internally, with no navel scar.

ANESTHESIA AND RECOVERY

Performed under epidural block or general anesthesia.

The surgery lasts 4 hours, with hospital overnight.

POST-OPERATIVE CARE

Home rest for 7 to 10 days.

You must wear a body girdle for at least 30 days, and you can go back to driving after 20 days.

More strenuous and controlled physical exercises should be done after 60 days and, from the third month onwards, some sportive activities may be released.

The abdominal contour shows results after 60 days, but the scars and swelling can take more than 6 months. If you maintain food care and physical activities, the benefits of your surgery will last for many years.
