FACIAL REJUVENATION

In plastic surgery for male facial rejuvenation, some details confer beauty and virility to the face. The aging process and the facial atrophy present peculiarities. In men, the desired mandible is larger, favoring a stronger jaw angle.

The nose is more straight back, having a larger projection than the female nose, with the tip angle being smaller, which are important details in male rhinoplasty.

Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty preserves the most horizontal male features. The eyelid weight is more pronounced and the lower sliding of the eyebrow is more intense in men. In these cases, the advantage of having an endoscopic lifting of the frontal and temporal area is great.

Cervicofacial rhytidoplasty or wrinkle surgery is indicated to correct the mandibular contour, to improve the appearance of the neck and to reposition the fall of deep tissues, with the strengthening of the platysma muscle. The scars are positioned discreetly in the auricular contour and below the chin. The insertion of hair at the temples and whiskers are preserved. After the ears, there may be some hair growth.

Liposuction alone, or associated with facial liposculpture in younger patients, can correct cervical lipodystrophy, known as "double chin." A quick 1- hour surgery under local anesthesia or sedation can solve this problem.

The current focus on facial volumetric replacement encompasses a set of techniques aimed at treating different tissues, such as excessive skin, excess or lack of fat, hyperactivity or facial and cervical muscle relaxation, in order to rescue the pleasant and natural contour of the facial skin, providing harmony.

The facial rejuvenation surgery with blepharoplasty is performed under local anesthesia and sedation, with an outpatient overnight stay, and the patient requires an average of 14 days to recover and return to usual activities.
